Medical device coatings
Medical devices, such as catheters, are the most common cause of hospital acquired infections because their surfaces are ideal for the build-up of bacteria. Kane Biotech has two lead catheter coating products to combat catheter-related infections.
PS/CHX, the Company’s lead urinary catheter product was developed internally. In addition, the Company has developed a DispersinB™ based coating. This DispersinB™ technology was invented by Dr. Jeffrey Kaplan and exclusively licensed from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey.
Oral care products for dental cavity prevention
The competence stimulating peptide (CSP) signaling system in Streptococcus mutans, discovered by Dr. Dennis Cvitkovitch, is a novel target for the development of dental cavity prevention. Kane Biotech has an exclusive license agreement with the University of Toronto for the CSP Technology.
