Vinson Biotech Inc. Changes Name to Kane Biotech Inc.
New Trading Symbol on TSX Venture Exchange: “KNE”
WINNIPEG, Manitoba (October 1, 2003): Vinson Biotech Inc. (VIN.P:TSXV) announces today that it has changed its name to Kane Biotech Inc. (“Kane”) and as of market opening on Wednesday, October 1, 2003 the Company will be
trading on the TSX Venture Exchange under the new symbol, "KNE". The name change reflects the Company’s focus on Kane’s anti-biofilm research, subsequent to its acquisition of Kane on September 24, 2003.
Kane becomes one of Canada’s newest publicly traded biotechnology companies. Kane is engaged in the research and development of products to prevent and disperse bacterial biofilms. Kane was formed around technology discovered
by Dr. Tony Romeo, a pioneer in biofilm research, and licensed from the University of North Texas Health Science Center in Fort Worth, Texas. Kane’ s technology includes patent protected targets, methods and processes involved in the formation of biofilms. The Company’s business and research operations will continue out of its Winnipeg facility.
